Vintage Pattern Spotlight: Simplicity 1866

The buttons and the cuffs make a huge statement with this design. The 1940’s were known for much simpler lines due to focusing on the war effort which had recently ended in 1945. Simplicity 1866, circa 1946. The top is styled with princess lines which flared below the waistline. A double row of buttons makes a smart front closing. The skirt, cut in four sections; falls in an easy flared with fullness centered in back. View 1 has three-quarter sleeves, finished with contrasting detachable cuffs which button to the sleeves. The neckline is shaped. View 2 has a round collar and a contrasting ribbon bow at the neck edge. The short sleeves are trimmed with cuffs.
