Progress Makes Perfect

I am someone who has a hard time to not overthink things. I also like to make excuses for myself as to why the timing isn’t ever ‘just right,’ to make art. For the past two weeks, I have been working on just going into the studio and painting without coming up with a bizillion excuses as to why I shouldn’t. The result has been a pretty positive one. I have enjoyed making time to get a little bit done here and there, because I am doing something. No matter how little it is, I do something and I feel one hundred times better when I am finished because I know that a little progress is better than no progress. Maybe my new motto should be, “Make art not excuses.”
