Abstract painting has always amazed me. There’s something about an artist who can make the process look simple yet results in a complex, beautiful and endearing product. Many people assume that it’s slapping paint together and it’s that simple. The hard part is to bring the colors together without muddying the canvas, which can prove to be harder than it looks! I tried it out last night and it was so much fun. I used a tiny 4 x 6 canvas and Golden brand paints with a tiny painters knife. I had a lot of fun experimenting with colors and made some new combinations that I will try in my other work. Experimentation can be a positive learning experience. I invite everyone to give it a try and to post your abstract experiences.
